I'm not a big fan of Mayan ruins, mostly because of the height and having to climb in the searing heat. I've been to a couple of the bigs ones and if they will ever let me into Guatemala (long story), I'll go to a couple more.
Out of the ones I've seen, the Tulum ruins are my favorite. It's got a really great view, looks fantastic, you can swim in it, AND it has a ton of iguanas. What could possibly beat an ancient city full of big, fat, lazy iguanas?
