December 31, 2004 | Market Vendor

Djema El-Fina, Marrakech.

A more close-up look of yesterday's post. Imagine this: you walk into the gauntlet of vendors, all of them trying to guess what nationality and language you speak and at the same time every single one of them is trying to sell you something. It becomes a game between vendor tables on who gets you first.

In the beginning it was a little uncomfortable, which is funny, because in Asia it's like this too so I should have been used to it. I think the difference is that in Asia I get pestered less because I'm Asian and the focus is on Western travellers where as in Morocco, Asians are viewed as the more wealthier visitors.

On a different note other than travel stories, Happy New Year's Eve everyone! Have a good time tonight and hopefully not too bad of a hangover tomorrow ;)
